Prezi

This is my updated Prezi presentation. I added new products and materials to the presentation. I was worried about having to redo the entire path but was glad to see there was a way to insert a number into the path without having to reroute the whole thing on your own. To do this you use the ball with no number that is inbetween the two numbers you want to add a path too. It automatically renumbers the entire presentions. Please also view the comments for the rest of this assignment, this was my original post that I updated for this class.

Podcast

This is my podcast. I used the Logitech software that came with my web cam to create and edit my podcast. I created the podcast during Thanksgiving for my godmother who used to live with us. She developed multiple sclerosis and is now completely immobile. We all miss her terribly but we couldn't continue to care for her. I wanted to create an intro and exit for the video and was happy to be able to lay the videos out on a story board to make the 3 videos I created into 1 continuous video. Since my godmother has no access to a computer I was able to save it to a dvd so that she can watch it on her dvd player in her room. One thing I found useful was to push the ctrl button to select all the videos I wanted in my video folder to copy onto the story board. Without using the ctrl button I couldn't get all of the videos on the same story board.

Emergent Technology II

This is a prezi presentation of the promotional items from my upcyled jewelry business with my friend Njideka. I enjoyed being able to select a path and revisit parts of the presentation. I had a lot of fun using the zebra to control size, space, and tilt. I had problems changing the font color so the entire presentation is in black font.

Delicious

I enjoyed being able to put all of my autism resources in one place. It was also very helpful for me in finding sources I was not yet familiar with. I like that I can carry my bookmarks with me to another computer because it will cut down on search time. I disliked having to pick tags, it was hard for me to use just a couple of descriptive words but the suggestions helped. I realized that I had to make sure I used the plural or singular version of the word throughout the tags so they would show up under the same tab.

Raleigh county negro schools

This photo presentation means so much to me personally. I am in education because of my family. My grandparents were teachers who broke bounds and rules. My grandmother taught her students about college though few would ever be able to go. My grandfather became the 1st black assistant superintendent in the U.S. then became the 1st black superintendent in the U.S. My grandmother kept meticulous records of everything that happened from the 30's onward. I am grateful to be able to have the records my grandmother kept. My grandmother taught in a one room school house for many years before moving to Indiana and teaching in IPS. I never knew my grandfather but my grandmother made me feel like I knew him. My grandmother was born in 1910 and she was my living history book. I look back in sadness at the shape of these schools but so proud that my grandmother never let that define herself or her students. The entire county has 1 bus for the negro students but they still attended, to better themselves. My grandparents are the reason there are black teachers and why there are black administrators. I am so proud of my grandparents, I hope to make advances in special education the way my grandparents made advances in negro education.
This is the first times I've made anything out of my photos. I am so excited to do this with the 100's of photos and data my grandmother had. I love being able to send this to other family members. Unfortunately only 2 people other than myself are alive on my dad's side. My favorite part of the project was adding the thought bubbles above my granparents. It was a great way to add extra information without it covering the entire picture with text. I also learned to click "Post options" to allow comments on my post. When typing my post I have to select post options and allow reader comments so people can comment on the post.
